N-Gram Analyzer

Discover the hidden word patterns driving your Amazon PPC spend, sales, and conversions.

What This Tool Does

Breaks down your Amazon search terms into 1, 2, 3 and 4-word patterns to reveal which words and phrases are driving spend, sales, and conversions — and which are wasting budget.

  • Extracts n-gram patterns from your Search Term Report
  • Aggregates spend, sales, CTR, CPC, CVR & ACOS per pattern
  • Surfaces top converting intent and negative keyword candidates
  • Italian stopword filter removes noise words before analysis

Find the wasteful words hiding in your search terms

Individual search terms are too granular to act on — you might have five hundred variations of the same bad idea, each with two clicks and no orders, none big enough to flag on its own. But group them by the words they share, and the pattern jumps out: every search term containing 'free' or 'cheap' or a competitor's brand name is bleeding, collectively, hundreds of dollars a month.

N-gram analysis breaks your search term report into 1-word, 2-word, and 3-word fragments and aggregates performance across every term that contains each fragment. Instead of negating five hundred terms one by one, you negate one root word and stop the whole pattern. This free N-Gram Analyzer does that in seconds, entirely in your browser.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Upload your search term report

Export the Sponsored Products (or Brands) search term report from Amazon Ads and drop the file in. Processing happens locally — nothing is uploaded.

  2. 2

    Choose your n-gram size

Analyze single words, two-word phrases, or three-word phrases. Single words surface broad waste patterns; longer n-grams isolate specific problem phrases.

  3. 3

    Read the aggregated metrics

Every word fragment shows total spend, clicks, orders, sales, and ACOS across all search terms that contain it — so a word draining budget everywhere is impossible to miss.

  4. 4

    Act on the roots

Negate the fragments that consistently waste spend, and note the ones that consistently convert — those are keyword expansion candidates worth targeting directly.

When To Use This Tool

Kill waste at the root

One irrelevant word can appear in hundreds of search terms. Negating the root stops all of them at once instead of playing whack-a-mole.

Find winning keyword themes

Words with strong aggregate conversion reveal the language your buyers actually use — direct targets for new exact-match keywords.

Spot competitor and off-intent terms

Brand names, 'free', 'used', 'wholesale', and wrong-use-case words show up fast as high-spend, zero-order fragments.

Prioritize by dollar impact

Sort fragments by total spend so you fix the words costing you the most first, not the ones that happen to catch your eye.

Frequently Asked Questions

An n-gram is a contiguous sequence of n words. A 1-gram is a single word ('organic'), a 2-gram is a two-word phrase ('organic dog'), a 3-gram is three words ('organic dog food'). N-gram analysis splits every search term into these fragments and sums performance across all terms containing each one, revealing patterns invisible at the individual-term level.

Use all three for different purposes. Single words find broad waste ('kids' when you sell adult products) and are the highest-impact negatives. Two- and three-word n-grams isolate specific phrases that are wasteful only in combination — useful when a single word is too aggressive to negate outright.

For consistently wasteful single words, add them as negative phrase to catch every variation. For problem multi-word phrases, negative phrase on the phrase is usually right. Once you've identified the waste here, our Negative Keyword Generator can build the Amazon-ready bulk sheet for upload.

Yes — it's half the value. Fragments with strong aggregate conversion tell you the exact words and phrases your buyers respond to. Promote those to dedicated exact-match keywords to control bids and capture the traffic more efficiently than broad match does.
